SAKASHA update on ingredients

6 in 1 Age Defying SPF 17 update: changed some ingredients into liposome form and added Ceramide 6, Ceramide I and Phytosphingosine. "6 in 1" already contains Ceramide 3. http://sakasha.com/shop/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=9

The ingredients listed below were changed to a Liposomal Delivery System (LDS). The key to any ingredient's effectiveness is getting it past the top dead layers of skin. The encapsulation ensures delivery of vital nutrients deep into the tissues making them more effective than the ingredient by itself. Skin nutrition and protection are also enhanced.

CoQ10 (Ubiquinone)
Is one of the most efficient ingredients to protect the skin from lipid peroxidation and helping combat the resulting damage. (Wrinkles, dark spots, loss of elasticity, etc...) It helps neutralize harmful free radicals, which is a key function in preventing premature aging.

Vitamin A can produce results such as reducing wrinkles and fine lines, increasing collagen production, smoothing skin texture, increasing skin thickness, diminishing acne, diminishing blotchiness and decreasing large pores. Many people consider retinol highly effective in treating aging skin. Retinyl palmitate will produce the same benefits as retinol. The difference is that retinyl palmitate is milder than retinol.

Vitamin E oil is extremely versatile. It promotes healing and is a strong antioxidant that prevents premature aging.

Vitamin D and the skin are closely related because of how vitamin d is produced. Vitamin D plays a role in skin cell metabolism and growth. Therefore, it has shown some effectiveness in treating itching and flaking of the skin. In addition, because one of the vitamin D benefits is to act as a powerful antioxidant, vitamin d can play a role in preventing the premature aging of skin and damage to the skin structure.

Alpha Lipoic Acid is a potent and versatile antioxidant and moderate anti-inflammatory. It is a co-factor for energy production in the cells. It inhibits cross-linking (the formation of chemical bridges between proteins or other large molecules). Cross-linking contributes to the aging process and wrinkling of the skin.

Ceramides are a family of waxy lipid molecules. A ceramide is composed of phytospingosine (derivative isolated from various plants) Ceramides consist of a long-chain or sphingoid base linked to a fatty acid via an amide bond. Ceramides are found in high concentrations within the cell membranes of cells. Ceramides assist in restoring the protective barrier function of the skin and offer enhanced delivery and exchange of skin lipids. Ceramides also help repair skin and have anti aging benefits.

Sphingosine is an 18-carbon amino alcohol with an unsaturated hydrocarbon chain, which forms a primary part of sphingolipids, a class of cell membranes and fatty ac

Algae extract & Pullulan: High-purity algae extract from micro algae (Nannochloropsis oculata) combined with Pullulan, a film-forming natural sugar (glucan) from the mushroom "A. Pullulans". Contains vitamin C & B12 as antioxidants. Has been shown to tighten skin in the short as well as long term. Studies found that this active can protect skin cells from oxidative stress & strengthening skin's connective tissue by stimulating collagen synthesis & renewing tissue cells. Pullulan can also retain moisture.

Due to these changes the product price increased a little but is well worth it. Formula is richer, feels lighter and less product is needed.
